I stumbled across this great little short film about hand-painted advertisements created by Mother NY and Stella Artois. It’s beautiful, nostalgic, inspiring: everything you’d expect it to be.

I swear I’m not trying to turn DB into a showcase for Tyler Stout’s work only, but it’s hard not to highlight it when it’s this good.
Having spent about 5 years drawing homes & buildings in Illustrator in Los Angeles, I’m always excited to find someone doing it in an interesting way. I really like the orange treatment Andrei Marius gave this illustration over on VectorTuts.
It reminded me of a poster I started working on a few months ago but keep deciding that I don’t like. I’ve included a snippet of that after the break. Surely with a buildup like that, how can you resist?
Niels “Shoe” Meulman is a super-talented graffiti artist and creative director from Amsterdam. His work is so good, I’m actually shocked that I haven’t seen it before. He has a new book out, called “Calligraffiti” that looks fantastic.

Here’s a quick series of holiday sketches that I finished up yesterday. I guess I am in the holiday spirit. Now where did I put my Bob Dylan Christmas Album?

Lately I’ve been having a pen & ink revival. It’s nice to get away from the machine occasionally.
